What is included in your résumé packages? The content of your résumé package depends on which package you have selected. At a minimum, packages include: 1) three copies of your new résumé, printed on high-quality papers 2) three copies of one targeted cover letter on matching paper 3) three high-quality business portfolio folders, ready to mail in heavyweight brown kraft paper envelopes 4) your files (in Microsoft Word format), typically sent to you as email attachments This is only representative of a basic package. These benefits enable motivated clients to recoup their résumé investment (quickly and several times over) through a dramatic reduction in the amount of time required to find their next job. Unemployment in North America typically lasts between 12 and 20 weeks (depending on who you ask) and can cause an enormous daily financial loss - often hundreds of dollars a day. Because we help them to curtail those losses, our clients typically realize a ROI (Return On Investment) of several hundred percent within the first few weeks of sending out their new, improved résumé! For example: with a résumé package created by TARGET, if you find work 4 weeks sooner than you would have with a poorly-written résumé, the extra money you will receive will pay for your initial investment many (from 5 to over 10) times over! Usually, from the initial discussion through to final product delivery, the process takes about ten business days. Rarely does it take more time than this, and sometimes turnaround will be quicker. In the event that we ask you to complete a Questionnaire, the turnaround time will depend in part on how quickly you are able to return the Questionnaire to us. We can determine an accurate turnaround time for you during our initial consultation. (Go back to the List of Top Seven Service Questions) What are the typical steps involved in a TARGET résumé project? Step One: Introductory Consultation After you first contact us, we will arrange for an initial telephone consultation that lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to half an hour. We will also request that you forward to us, in strictest confidence, your current resume and a recent cover letter that you have written (if you have these items available). During the initial consultation we'll discuss your specific objectives, your work history, your current employment (if applicable), what you have already prepared for your job search and your overall readiness to move forward. We will also review with you any résumé and cover letter that you have forwarded to us. Finally we'll describe our services, their benefits, the fees involved, and will also answer any questions that you may have. Step Two: Proposal and Acceptance Immediately after the initial consultation, should you decide to hire us, we will email or fax to you a three-page Client Agreement that contains the following information:
If the Client Agreement meets with your approval then you'll sign Page 1, complete Page 2, and then fax these two pages back to TARGET. Step Three: Information Gathering As soon as we have processed your initial payment, in most cases we will immediately email or fax to you our confidential Questionnaire. This tool enables us to gather a substantial amount of information about you that we have not gathered from your current resumes or during our initial telephone consultation. Within five business days of receiving the Questionnaire back from you, we will deliver to you the résumé draft. Step Four: Draft Review During this session, we'll discuss your résumé documents and together decide on any additional changes required. Payment of any remaining fees owing is due upon completion of the draft review. Within two business days of the draft review, we will deliver the final résumé package for final acceptance by you. Step Four: Acceptance and Delivery Once we've confirmed with you that you're completely happy with your package, we will print your documents on top-quality materials and deliver them to you (if you've arranged for a printed package) and will also deliver your files to you (typically as email attachments). We want you to be totally satisfied and thus if you request further modifications that were not discussed during the draft review session, we will happily make those changes (at no charge to you) if you bring them to our attention within one week of the date that we email the final résumé package to you. Any changes that you request after that date are subject to a service charge billed on a quarter-hour basis. (Go back to the List of Top Seven Service Questions) What do you expect of me, the client?

The level of investment for a résumé package varies widely from one client to another, and depends on factors such as the following:
During an initial consultation or résumé review, we will accurately determine and discuss the level of investment required for your project. Why are your prices higher than other businesses such as typing services would charge? Typing services can prepare your résumé for a very low fee but they are rarely staffed by résumé writing specialists. They do an excellent job of word processing and can make your documents look very attractive. If you are lucky, you may encounter a typing service employee that has a solid grasp of the principles of English diction and grammar, so your documents will be attractive and will also read very smoothly. However, the content of your résumé is much more important than how it looks and reads – and the content is much more challenging to determine. Most typing services cannot afford the time to pay much attention to the content of your documents; you are expected to have this all figured out by the time you arrive on their premises. When you hire a professional résumé writer, you are hiring a specialist in content creation. At TARGET Career Services, we don't just handle the word processing or check to make sure everything "flows" (although we do cover off those aspects very well).
